Mark and I

So Mark and I seem on and off and on and off but I thought we were quite happy but Mark decided  to break up with me today. Which was a bit of a shock but I kind of think its a good thing. He didn't see our relationship going anywhere and he wants to be single when he travels which really so do I it's easier. This way I can go with my sister travelling. We shall see.

Myself

As I was saying in my last message that Mark decided to pull out as though my idea of going on the block this year was a stupid idea. So that crushed my dreams as Mark put it... So I was thinking that I can enter the Block with... and I can think of no one... The people I know that are in Australia are happy in their work and wouldn't be as enthusiastic as me for doing this. So, I decided that they are asking for teams to go in but I've decided to do it myself. I understand that I will need a team member and it will make the experience that much better but since I don't have anyone then I'm just going to have to do it myself. Plus everyone else I know is in New Zealand and they don't know what the Block is.

The Block

I really wanted to go on The Block I was so excited and my partner Mark said he wanted to do it to. I know, I asked him a hundred times just to make sure that I wasn't the crazy one. So I was going to organise the photos the videos and everything all last weekend and send it in. I stopped and thought that I wanted to do it properly so I have till October to send it in and in that time I can make it amazing. Until dum, dum, dum, Mark said you aren't doing this for a couple years aye? And I thought no, I've just been so excited and talking about entering in the block for the next season for the past year. How rude, I asked him and he said he would. The sad thing is I wont do it with anyone else becasue I'm from New Zealand and living in Australia and I have no friends that I want to go in with. And I cant do it by myself. Anyway my savings for travelling has started I have fixed my teeth but there are a few things in the way like how I owe an insurance company $650 for no reason but thats okay things like this happen. No matter what I am going, we have decided that we are going to South America for a month and then we are going to travel to Europe for the rest of the time we are away.

Good going

So I have spent money on... this week $30 on phone, $30 on dinner with friends for friends birthday, $10 lotto ticket..... My theory is since I'm so unlucky, I would buy a ticket and my numbers would never come up so I decided that if I get a ticket and choose my numbers I would choose the numbers that I think would never win. I'm decoding power ball, it's fool proof. Anyway other than that idea, my money plans are going well I handed my Resume out to shops at DFO to work weekends today and I have a savers mentality at the moment so that's good and Marks even helping me out. That's a relief that he is helping me become a saver.

A little bit envious

I am a fair bit envious of all my friends travelling to all the countries that I want to go to I am soooooo envious. It's not like me to feel like this but I have never heard them talking about wanting to go to other places in the world and there they are enjoying Paris. The only difference is that I want to go for a longer time and I have friends in France that I can stay with so that's cool and that can make the trip longer and I can see the French in the country. I'm going to open up an envelope that's dated for yesterday. I'm sure I will get over it as long as I still believe that I will be experiencing the same thing.

Florence on a world trip

My friend Florence is currently travelling the world. I'm super proud of her but I wish I was there too. She is super lucky, she has been through Asia and to Gallipoli for ANZAC Day in Turkey. She then travelled through Russia and now she is travelling through Africa on a 700km Safari tour and skydiving in Namibia. I can't wait for that to be me. If I'm going to South America and Asia I think I might save a bit more so I can go to more places like Russia and thrugh the Eurpoean countries. SoSave from June 2012 till December of 2013. That gives me another 6 months worth of saving. That way it can be one trip of a life time rather than 2 or more. Don't get me wrong I will always be travelling but it will be harder to save the second time around because there will be other things my money will be paying for. e.g a house, children, a lifestyle and career.

Work Help

I work for westpac and they like to help their workers so they have given us a website to help us reach our goal. Called Dream Big. I think it's awesome, it shows the how much I can save to reach my goal and that I need a second job to be able to do it. its very cool.

Saving some funds.

So it's $97 that I get to have for 2 weeks. So I'm finding it a bit daunting. Tips I have learnt from customers that come in are. 1. Don't go out and dine much. 2. Instead of buying your favourite wine at $15 a bottle, buy one similar at $10 so you can still enjoy the lifestyle. 3. Don't shout yourself a drink of coke, because that could be a night in Asia with air con. 4. Don't buy anything you cant take with you. 5. Put up pictures of you destinations to keep you motivated. 6. Think is this more important than my trip.

Back on track.

So I've been a bit slack lately and distracted. If I can get my teeth fixed and contacts by 28 of June. Which puts me one fortnight out but I'm sure I can make it up. I told my friend Johnny that if he can get me to save $21,000 by April next year he can have a thousand dollars. It would totally be worth it. If it works. He just has to help me implement it some how... Don't know how he going to help me do it. But I want to wish him luck.

Money Woes...

So I am running out of money very quickly, I'm getting my teeth fixed with another 7 to go at $200 a pop. I'm getting contacts so consiltation witht he optomitrists are expencive and my contacts for 6 months costs $400 and I didn't get the job at Domino's and I have to pay double for my phone bill. So yep and I bought a cycling outfit which also run out my money. Ow no. This saving thing isn;t going well.. Ok I'm on a hunt for a new job. My younger sister is coming to live 2 hours away from me and I have to pick her up from the bus station and take her down there which is also a coost but I'm happy to do that.

New addition to my family

I've just done something awesome/ terrible. I have bought a bicycle, it's amazing and I love it. SO it's great but it has cost me money which I wasn't planning on spending... I am also getting 2 fillings today during lunch time so we will see how that goes. I will save my money when my teeth are fixed. I applied for a job at Domino's Pizza and I didn't get it. They said that there were no positions at this time which I'm curious because a girl that works there came in the other day and sid that they were completely understaffed. So I'm thinking that I got a lot of the questions wrong in the questionaire. Oops. I don't know maybe Pizza Hut or Crust. I want to work somewhere in the back were I don't see people. But I want to work after working at the bank and on weekends.

Minus backpack, tickets, gear and getting my teeth fixed. So I think it's pretty awesome, I'm going to buy my sisters ticket as well so she has to come with me. I think that I will tell her because other wise she may have other plans. Let's hope my other sister comes with me. So we can all go together.

Change of Plans

So I am still ridiculously excited about South America but in the mean time I have got my RSA licence but now I don't need it because I am not going to work at the Royal Hotel anymore because they are after professionals and I have no training at all. So my other option is working at Domino's just down the road I can work weekends and after work so I'm pretty excited. Also I bought a bicycle I'm so excited I can't wait to go for a ride and that way I can leave in the dark and not get attacked which is a bonus. I need the bike for my sanity and I'm getting my teeth fixed I've got another appointment on the 24th of April. My teeth are ridiculously bad but my dentist is going to try and do all of them as fillings and not root canals. She fulled one the other day and the whole inside of the tooth had decade. I almost cried I had no idea the damage I had done.

RSA Check

I took a drive down to Batemans bay yesterday to go to a course and the teacher was hopeless but I passed so it's okay. All I need now is a RCG licence to work in the gaming industry And I will be ready to apply for a job... And hopfully get one, thats the second hurdle.
I am making headpieces for my friends at the moment and I'm hoping if I make enough people will see them and want to buy some. Also I'm thinking of taking my friend Michelle to the Hall Markets. Apparently it's amazing.

RSA Licence

I have applied for an RSA Licence online, it's a licence you need to get before you can serve people alcohol. So I'm going to do it so I have the money and experience as a waitress to go. I'm not going to let anything stand in my way and I'm am positive I'm going next March that is my cut off date and I'm going to do what ever it takes. There is a really nice new bar in town and I would love for that to be my first go. I have never worked in a bar before and I was fired for washing dishes to slow but I'm the best person for working with people and I will be a hit. I'm sure if I get a RSA Licence then that will show that I am committed to going for the job and for the boss to at least give me a try.

Mark (my boyfriend) is coming travelling too, so we drove around town today to have a look at all the camping stores and looked at the backpacks and apparel. We were getting excited about going, it's nice to have someone just as excited about it as me.

The Start

So in March a year from now I am travelling to Asia and South America.

I'm going to save up $20,000 and hopefully $10,000 on a credit card. That's $30,000 that I can travel with for a year. I'm hoping that after I pay most things off, like some of my Student Loan and getting my teeth fixed, there may just be a need for two root canals at $1300 each they don't come cheap and then I have 9 more holes to fix at say $200 each so that's....$2600 + 9 x $200 = $1800 = $4400.

So I have just worked out that by March next year I would have only saved $10,200... Are you kidding me that's not enough. I need to figure out a way to save more. I have my $50 a week as an off the side savings account so by the end of 25 paid fortnights it is $1600 and that's with the extra $350 that's already in there. I work in a bank and get $1400 a fortnight, I'm going to put away $600 for travelling that leaves me $99 for 2 weeks which is nothing but it's good for me to start living as a hermit.

I'm going to get a job as a waitress at a bar for the extra money and for the experience so I know what to do I just need a RSA Licence. I don't know whether I would actually enjoy working 2 jobs... I guess it's not the point of enjoying it it's the point of hard work and it paying off in a years time when I want to  travel with a good secure budget.
